Hotel review: Sheraton Grand Krakow

Is there a luxury 5 star hotel in Krakow which provides views on the longest river in Poland, on the most beautiful royal castle in Poland and on the half of the city which was the old capital of Poland?

Yes – Sheraton Grand Krakow!

Hotel located in the heart of the city, is frequently visited by tourists from all over the world (for tourists and business reasons). This property is the first one in Poland, that belongs to the Sheraton Grand (collections of premier hotels and resorts on the highest levels of service and design) which has 36 hotels all over the world.

At Shearaton Grand Krakow we stayed for 1 night discovering every corner of this property. Because of my problems with broken leg I still had to reserve a handicapped equipped room. During our Checking-In Front Desk Agent explained to us all details about hotel and our room. As expected for 5 star hotel, we were greeted and treated very nicely. I had some time to observe how everyone at Front Desk were treated other guests with patience and respect while explaining some tips for visiting Krakow.

Thanks to the knowledge of Front Desk staff and Concierge team, everyone visiting the city for the first time will have a chance to see all necessary places in Krakow. There’s nothing more important than tips from locals 🙂 As we all know, Krakow is also one of the most beautiful cities in Poland and Europe – according to Travellers Choice Trip Advisor “Top 25 Destinations – Europe” Krakow is on 23rd position!

Time to find our room finally arrived 🙂 We were following long corridors (hotel has 232 room) and found our room (prepared for people on wheelchairs). At Sheraton Grand Hotel, there are 3 Handicapped equipped rooms in total and whole hotel area is accessible for people with disabilities. Our room was unfortunately before renovations, that is why we asked if there was a chance to visit other types of guests rooms to take some pictures.

Our room was really big, but kind of dark. Bathroom was convenient and easy to use for people with disabilities.

Miss Magdalena from Marketing and PR team took us for a Hotel Tour to present different room categories at Hotel. We started from room # 107 (Classic) which was just after recent renovation. I have to admit that the new decor and design of this room is delightful. Room is also well lightsome and elegant.

At the room you will find a lot of accents on the walls reminding that you are in Krakow. These pieces of art are made by local artists from Krakow and surrounding areas. Hotel is still under renovations, but they are not very disturbing for guests and workers are on the site only from 9am – 5pm. Interiors of Sheraton Grand Krakow’s rooms are prepared by architect from London Alex Kravetz (just check his amazing portfolio) .

Another spot on our way was room #102 (Deluxe). It had a little bit different furnishing than the previous one, but was also luxurious. An asset for this room was a comfortable, blue chaise longue located next to the window, which is a perfect spot to relax after a long day visiting.

Hotel beds are veeeeery comfortable and really big. If you would like to have a good sleep every night like at your favourite Sheraton hotel, you can do it at your own home! At the website Sheraton Store you can purchase a bed so every night will be like “Sheraton Sleep Experience”. You will find there beds at different prices (even up to 3K Euros). At the store you will find towels, robes or bedding from Sheraton brand. Currently beds are on the sales, so you can get for yourself a Christmas gift 🙂

Another spot on our way was room #408 (Club Room – twin) which is also after renovation. This room can fit up to 3 people and their guests have an access to the Club Lounge.

While visiting this room, Miss Magdalena told us about an interesting option of “To Go” meals. Hotel offers this option for active hotel guests, who spend their time  visiting the city and during business meetings. The choice of meals is really impressive – from healthy dishes to gluten free. Meals are also freshly prepared, you have to let Hotel staff know 12 hours before that you want to purchase this lunch option for the next day. I recommend it to everyone, as this is the best option for all of you who care about health and diet.

We also had a break at the Club Lounge. You will find there a variety of snacks and beverages available during the day. Yo can also watch TV and read newspapers. It’s a perfect spot to meet with friends or just simply sit down and relax.

At the end of our trip we had a big surprise! We visited The Royal Wawel Suite. This is a truly special suite where you will find a huge living room with a dining table for 8, bedroom, walk-in closet, kitchenette and bathroom with Jacuzzi and separated shower. The Royal Wawel Suite has an unique view on the Wawel Castle and Wisła river. This suite is perfect for travellers who plan to organize business or family meetings and want to entertain guests without leaving room.

If you are staying at Sheraton Grand Krakow and you don’t get a room with a view on the river or castle all is not lost yet! From The Rooftop Terrace & Lounge Bar you will find an unique view on the city. During Summer season this is a place to be – you can get there a drink or dinner with a family of friends.

At Sheraton Grand Krakow you will also find a gym and swimming pool.IMG_4155.jpg

After a good night sleep at the hotel bed (I start to save money for their matress) it was a time for breakfast, that you can get at the lobby area.

Big choice of hot and cold dishes as well as crunchy baked goods! Everything was looking and smelling good. The only disadvantage was that we were waiting too long for our tea. Breakfast staff was kind of sleepy… But it didn’t disturb us to enjoy our breakfast and spend a nice time with a cup of tea.
