Since the big opening of this hotel in May 2018, I was looking forward to an opportunity to stay there for a couple of days. So last week finally I have made a reservation to discover this new addition to the Warsaw’s hotel market. I was really excited about it beautiful design and modern look, as I really admire this kind of hotels. If you want to learn more about my experience you should read the rest of my post.
Starting from the beginning (which is from the check-in) I got really disappointed… Unfortunately, I had an impression that the host who was working at the front desk, had no idea what is going on around him. And instead of a fast check-in, it took us almost 15 minutes to get our room keys. What was really bad he didn’t welcome me (I’m a loyal HH member) and didn’t thank for choosing Hilton Hotels (which is normal in other properties of this brand). Well, it can be all forgiven…right? (I also had an experience working at the front desk, and I know it is not always smooth and kind of stressful).
Luckily Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Mokotow is a beautiful, well designed and clean hotel, so I was looking forward to forgetting my first impressions (which I guess really counts?) and start to discover my home for the next couple of days.
When I got to my room, I was really surprised by how clean my room was and comfortable for 2 adults. What I always enjoy while staying at Hamptons are their comfortable beds. Remember! If you are looking for a good night sleep, then go to any Hampton in the world ;).
My room had anything that might be useful during your stay – kettle, desk, safety box, tv, iron, but no fridge (can you tell me if this is a standard at Hampton Hotels?). I was delighted after two nights in my room. I can literally give it 10/10 points! 🙂
Bathroom reminds me a lot of the one at Hampton by Hilton Centrum. Big walk-in shower, big towels and a right amount of space to put my personal cosmetics.
Breakfast is something that always proves to me that the hotel is welcoming (imagine having a guest at your home and giving them a weak breakfast). Well at Hampton by Hilton Mokotow it is fundamental and not really surprising. It has some basic dishes like eggs, beans, bacon, sausages, coffee, tea, fruits, pastries and cold dishes like cheese or charcuterie. It will definitely satisfy your hunger but not your expectations. To be honest Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Centrum offers much better breakfast and wider choice.
That was also my very first time trying their famous waffles – and they were delicious 🙂
Small but satisfying choice of breakfast dishes. Enjoy your meal! 🙂
Big space where you can have your breakfast, but during the rush hour (9:00 am – 10:00 am) I have seen that people were barely finding their free seats. So if you want to enjoy your breakfast in a quiet environment, wake up 30 minutes earlier.
Corner for book lovers
At the Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Mokotow you can also find a small corner for book lovers. The hotel really cares about the history of Warsaw as you can find there a lot of books presenting Warsaw at different ages. If you are interested in vintage photography, you will have a lot of things to read! Thanks, Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Mokotow for investing in such beautiful albums with pictures, it was a pleasure to read them while drinking my morning tea.
This is how the Lobby/Front Desk area looks like. There is a plenty of space for relaxing or to grab a coffee or beer with your friends and family.
A daily dose of newspapers that you can find right in front of the elevator. I love how they located this stand, cause you can grab your favorite one, while on your way for the breakfast!
And of course an essential symbol of any hotels, which are (according to me) – Hotel Carts. Do not forget about my Instagram account where I post pictures of hotel carts from all around the world – @HotelCarts
Right behind the front desk and bar area, you will find a well equipped Business Center with two computer stations. There is everything you need – printers, pencils, paper to write on and very comfortable chairs (I would like to get the same one to my own working desk at home). So if you have to print your tickets, boarding pass or a plan for the next day, just use their Business Center.
For those who don’t want to miss their personal training or want to sweat off some calories, hotel prepared a gym, which is open 24 hours and is available to all of the guests. You can find there fresh towels and bottles of water.
This is how Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Mokotow looks like from outside. If you want to park there is a parking area where you can leave your car during your stay. It costs 60 PLN for a night.
BTW – there is a discount for Hilton Honors members – BUT only for those, who will join the program during their stay. I think it is not fair for loyal Hilton Honors members. I think that this discount should be for any HH member 🙂
Hotel is located around 5 -10 minutes from the Chopin Airport, which is a significant advantage if you are in a hurry to catch your plane.
While walking around the hotel I met some employees on my way, but only one person told me good morning. I’m really disappointed cause I remember that at my school they were teaching us one important rule called “10 and 5”. Let me explain it to you…
If a hotel employee sees a guest from 10 feet he/she should make eye contact with a guest. When the employee is 5 feet from the guest, he/she should greet him with a big smile. This is a rule that will make ANY hotel successful if they want their guests to feel like coming back one day.
So just to assume – It’s brand new opened, it’s well designed, it’s comfortable, it’s beautiful but… there are no hospitality feelings yet 😦
Thanks for reading,
Kasia
Nice review. We are loyal Hilton customers so have stayed at our share of Hampton s .
Like you said, the beds always are great, the rooms comfortable, and the breakfasts unexciting but adequate .
